EdgeIQ 3.0 Introduces Key Performance And Usability Enhancements

BOSTON - July 17, 2018 - EdgeIQ, The Edge Computing Company, today announced the general availability of the latest release of its flagship product, EdgeIQ™ 3.0. EdgeIQ helps hundreds of organizations simplify the way they work with operational devices and their data. EdgeIQ also provides a powerful orchestration capability that seamlessly links the physical domain at the edge with key enterprise application and services in the cloud. The newest platform release marks a major architectural evolution and adds several important enhancements that make it easier for OEMs to incorporate device management services into their smart products.

Many of the platform updates are focused on improving the speed, performance and scale of the cloud services and device management administrative functionality of the platform. Key benefits customers will see include:

Simplified and Enhanced User Management - EdgeIQ 3.0 delivers a powerful yet flexible administrative management capability to support multi-tier hierarchies of administrators, users, channel partners and customers. Creating and managing different role types is essential for hardware OEMs and enterprises that support ecosystems of users within and outside their own organizations. The enhancements also extend to the user-interface which exposes or blocks access to features, data and more while also allowing for flexible personalization.

Increased Speed, Responsiveness and Scale - The updated platform makes use of state-of-the-art container-based technology and services-based architecture, specifically Kubernetes. These changes dramatically improve speed and responsiveness of the core platform while also providing increased scale and improved manageability.

Increased Portability - The updated architecture allows greater operational flexibility and portability of the platform. Customers can deploy the cloud services of EdgeIQ in any public cloud, private cloud or even a local server cluster. This is an essential capability to support highly distributed and increasingly de-centralized enterprise architectures.

“Our customers need richer device and data management capabilities delivered from the Edge to the Cloud,” said Greg Jones, EdgeIQ's Chief Technology Officer. “Flexibility and scale are critical, but so is the ability to manage the many different user profiles in the value chain. Our latest release addresses real-world requirements of organizations that have complex user bases and are scaling edge device deployments at production levels globally.”

EdgeIQ is used by hardware OEMs as a software service for Device Lifecycle Management, while enterprises and systems integrators use the platform to also manage unstructured edge data and the orchestration of resources between the edge and cloud. The platform is device, network and application-agnostic which allows tremendous flexibility and ease of integration with third party platforms and applications.
