One of the more interesting and clear signs that the Connected Product Economy has hit an inflection point is the growing number of MVNOs jumping into the fray. For years, a handful of IoT-focused MVNOs partnered with and sometimes competed with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to bring connected products online. There was a wave of consolidation ten years ago with larger, PE-backed players gaining traction in specific geographies or even focused on specific vertical markets.
Today, however, there are more IoT-focused MVNOs and MVNEs than ever before. Part of this growth is explained by the rapid expansion of the connected product economy. Some of it is explained by the withdrawal of some MNOs from the segment as direct providers. Regardless, product manufacturers have more options than ever before. With those options come lots of questions and confusion.
A recent White Paper from First Analysis helps explain the growth, evolution and taxonomy of this segment. As EdgeIQ begins to partner with MNOs and MVNOs alike, we wanted to share this insightful report with you. Access the full white paper here.
